Getting Started
From signup to your first booking.
Everything you need to get UhuruSpace up and running, in the order you'll actually do it. No technical knowledge required, just follow along, and you'll be taking bookings before you know it.
Before you begin
You don't need a website, a developer, or any technical setup. You need about 30 minutes and a clear picture of what your business offers. UhuruSpace handles the rest.
Here's the path: set your rules → create your services → build your storefront → add your team → go live. Let's walk through each step.
Set your business rules
Start by telling UhuruSpace how your business operates. This shapes how customers can book you, so it's worth getting right first.
Set your business hours.
These are the outer limits of when your business accepts bookings. Each service can set its own hours inside this window later, but never outside it.
Choose your booking window.
Decide how far in advance customers can book, and how close to the appointment time they can still book. Two hours' notice? Same day? A week ahead? Your call.
Set your confirmation preference.
Choose whether bookings are confirmed automatically, or whether you review each one before it's added to your calendar. You can set this differently for each engine.
Decide your reschedule rules.
Set how many times a booking can be moved and how close to the appointment a customer can still change it.
Create your services
This is the heart of your setup. A service is anything a customer can book: a haircut, a table, a class, a room for the night.
Choose your engine.
When you create a service group, you pick how it works:
One customer, one staff member, one time slot. For salons, clinics, consultants.
A shared space with capacity. For restaurants, venues, coworking spaces.
Group sessions with multiple attendees. For gyms, studios, workshops.
Multi-day stays. For guesthouses, lodges, rentals.
Configure the group.
Set your duration, capacity, pricing, and the rules specific to that engine: buffer time for appointments, party size for reservations, enrolment limits for classes, inventory for stays.
Add your services.
Inside each group, add the individual services you offer, each with its own name, price, description, image, and settings.
Turn on add-ons.
Optionally require deposits, ask intake questions, request file uploads, add pre-service instructions, or set a cancellation policy, per service, exactly as you need.
Build your storefront
Your storefront is your professional booking page, the page customers land on to book you.
Pick a template.
Choose a professionally designed template that fits your business, or start from blank.
Make it yours.
Use the drag-and-drop builder to customize everything: your logo, your colours, your photos, your copy. Add sections, rearrange them, and style every element. No code, ever.
Add your services.
Your services appear automatically once you add a services block. Choose which ones show on this storefront.
Preview on every screen.
Check how your storefront looks on desktop, tablet, and mobile before you publish.
Publish.
When you're happy, publish live with one click. Your storefront is now a real, working booking page with its own web address.

Add your team
If you work solo, you can skip most of this, but if you have a team, here's how to set them up.
Invite team members.
Send an email invite and assign a role: manager, accountant, or staff. They set up their own login and see exactly the access their role allows.
Add bookable staff.
For team members who get booked but don't use the software, add them as staff with a name, photo, and working hours. No login needed.
Set schedules.
Give each staff member their working hours, standard, or different for each day of the week. Customers can only book them when they're actually working.
Assign services.
Link staff to the services they perform, so only the right people get booked for each one.
Connect your tools (optional)
Connect the tools you already use to make everything work together.
Google Calendar
Connect in one click for two-way sync, your bookings flow into your calendar, and your existing events block out busy time so you're never double-booked.
Two-way syncZoom
For online services, connect Zoom and every online booking gets an automatic meeting link, included in the customer's confirmation email.
